You point your domain's NS records to Cloudflare's nameservers, manage records through their dashboard, and resolution queries are answered by the nearest edge node worldwide. Route 53 is Amazon Web Services' authoritative DNS service. You create a hosted zone for your domain, define records, and queries are resolved through AWS's global infrastructure. Route 53 charges a small fee per hosted zone per month and a separate fee per million DNS queries. If your infrastructure already runs on AWS, Route 53 eliminates the friction of managing DNS across two platforms. The per-query cost is negligible for most small-business traffic volumes.
